Husker Mascot History:
Herbie Husker (2003-Present): In 2003 new Athletic Director Steve Pederson gave Herbie a makeover, replacing his overalls with jeans and a red shirt. I do have to say that this is one decision of ADSP's I approve of.
Herbie (Late 90s-2002): After a lot of years of creepy/shabby looking Herbie costumes, they got it right with this one.
Herbie (Early 90s-Late 90s): Never quite looked right. This version of Herbie was on the sidelines for the Huskers' championship years and often wore a Husker football uniform rather than his overalls.
Herbie (1980s): By now has evolved to a full costume and no longer just a guy with a big foam/paper mache head.
Herbie (1974-1980s): After being created by Texas artist Dirk West for the 1974 Cotton Bowl the Nebraska Athletic Department began using his creation immediately. His first offical appearance was on the cover of the 1974 media guide.
Harry Husker (1963-1974): A red-clad Nebraska fan created by Bill Goggins.
Lil' Red (1993-Present): Created to appeal to kids, by the late 90s he had largely replaced Herbie.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Well, having lived in Lincoln my entire life means I've a big Nebraska Football fan. Below are some links to message boards and Cornhusker stuff I find interesting. To the right is a history of Nebraska mascots. (I love Herbie!)

Message Boards:
The first one is perhaps the most well-known but for the last views years they've charged a fee to keep the opposing fans out.
